Second stage of Q-school.

Second stage didn’t go exactly the way I wanted it to go. But when I woke up Saturday morning the sun was still up. It was unfortunate, but just a tiny bump in the road.

I got to Huston Sunday morning where I went straight to the golf course, I played the font nine with my caddy drew. It was easy to see that the tournament would be won off the tee. The course was very tight and if you missed the fairway you would be in big trouble. The course I played Deerwood country club is very famous because the 4th hole was in the movie Tin Cup, the hole is nr. 18 in the movie, where he is going for the green in two and hitting it in the water many times.

I got off to a good start on the first two holes in the first round. I had a 9 footer for birdie on nr. 1 and a 6 footer for birdie on number two. When I stepped onto the third tee, I was not 100% sure if I had the right club in my hand, I chose to stick with the driver and unfortunate hit it in the water. It was the beginning of many bad drives the rest of the week. I continued to miss it both ways, which is the worst that can happen to a golfer. I managed to hit a lot of great iron shots. I hit 13.5 greens in average a round over the entire tournament.  I think that was pretty good considered where I was off the tee .

After each round I worked hard on fixing the driver, but I never managed to get it just right, it got better through the tournament, but I always had a few misses that cost me a lot. The funny thing is that normally the driver is my strongest weapon, I love hitting the driver, I always feel confident when I am stepping onto the tee. The good thing about what happened with the driver is that I now know that I need to have a plan B if a situation like this comes up again. The way I look at it is that I can either sit down and be really sad that I didn’t manage to make my goal this year of getting on the web.com tour, or I can look at the positive things and learn from the negative things that happened. I chose to learn from my experience and next time around I will do a better job.

My plan from now on is to play the Latin American PGA Tour qualifying in January. I will most likely be playing the qualifier in Mexico. In the beginning of January I will be in Florida where I will play a tournament and after that meet up with the Danish national pro team for a week and a half. It should be a lot of fun and a great way to get the year started. Can’t wait to play my next tournament.

Thank you very much for reading my blog. I hope all of you are having a great day.
